Caribbean Culture and Lifestyle Magazine — Editorial Design

In collaboration with McNab Visual, a publishing studio based in Belize, we developed the editorial design for four editions of Caribbean Culture and Lifestyle Magazine, a publication focused on showcasing the region’s culture, travel, and contemporary lifestyle.

The objective was to create a visually engaging and structured magazine design system that enhances readability while reflecting the vibrant identity of the Caribbean. Using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, we designed a series of custom editorial layouts tailored to different types of content, including feature articles, interviews, and visual stories. Each layout was carefully structured to optimize space, improve content flow, and establish a clear visual hierarchy, ensuring that readers can navigate this lifestyle magazine effortlessly. A key aspect of the project was the selection and pairing of typography, balancing expressive display typefaces with highly readable body text to create a dynamic yet functional reading experience. The typographic system plays an essential role in reinforcing the magazine’s tone — both sophisticated and approachable.

We also worked on image editing and visual composition, ensuring that photography integrates seamlessly with the editorial design layouts. The editorial design system was designed to be flexible and adaptable, enabling variation across different sections while maintaining a cohesive identity throughout each edition. This approach allows the lifestyle magazine to evolve visually while preserving consistency across issues. The final result is a refined and versatile magazine design solution, combining editorial design, typography, and visual storytelling to create an engaging publication that effectively communicates the essence of Caribbean culture and lifestyle.
