Everyday Challenge — Personal Design Project

Everyday Challenge is a personal design project centered on content creation through lived experiences, where design becomes a tool to process ideas, emotions, and everyday reflections. Developed over the course of three months, this project explores the intersection of editorial design, lettering, painting, and illustration as a means of documenting and interpreting personal narratives.

Inspired by 40 Days of Dating, the project adopts a structured yet introspective approach to creativity, transforming daily experiences into visual compositions. Each piece functions as an individual exploration while contributing to a larger body of work that reflects the evolution of thoughts, emotions, and creative experimentation over time. A key aspect of Everyday Challenge is its fully handcrafted process. All elements were painted, lettered, photographed, and composed by the author, emphasizing a tactile and authentic approach to design. This method allowed for greater freedom in experimentation, resulting in compositions that blend analog techniques with digital refinement using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

Through editorial layouts and typographic exploration, the project builds a visual language that captures both spontaneity and intention. The integration of textures, hand-drawn elements, and expressive lettering creates a rich and layered aesthetic, reinforcing the emotional depth behind each piece. Beyond its visual outcome, Everyday Challenge stands as an exercise in discipline, consistency, and creative exploration, where the act of making becomes as important as the final result. The project highlights the potential of design as a reflective practice—one that not only communicates ideas but also helps shape and understand them.

The result is a cohesive yet experimental body of work that showcases the versatility of editorial design and handmade techniques, while offering an intimate glimpse into the creative process behind each composition.
