UFM People — Editorial Design for Postcard Series

For Universidad Francisco Marroquín (UFM), we developed the editorial design of the UFM People postcard series, a collection of printed pieces that highlight the diverse profiles, stories, and backgrounds of students and faculty within the university community. The project aimed to celebrate individuality while reinforcing a sense of identity and belonging through visual storytelling and print design.

The main challenge was to create a system that could accommodate a wide range of personalities and narratives while maintaining a cohesive connection across the series. Each postcard needed to feel unique and tailored to the featured individual, yet still function as part of a unified editorial collection. To achieve this, we designed a flexible editorial framework that allows variation in composition, typography, and visual elements. Every postcard was approached as a distinct piece, with its own look and feel, carefully aligned with the tone, profession, or personal story of each subject. Through the use of typographic hierarchy, layout exploration, and graphic elements, we ensured that each design communicates character and context in a clear and engaging way.

The project involved the use of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator to develop compositions that balance readability with visual impact. Special attention was given to grid systems, spacing, and typographic choices, allowing the content to remain accessible while supporting creative expression across the series. The final result is a dynamic and adaptable editorial design system that transforms each postcard into a unique narrative piece, while collectively building a compelling representation of the UFM community. The series functions both as a communication tool and as a curated collection of stories that reflect the diversity, talent, and identity of the institution.
